Admissions to state universities

Foreigners who have:

  • the Card of the Pole (KartaPolaka)
  • a refugee status
  • a permit to settle
  • a residence permit for a long-term EC resident on the territory of the Republic of Poland
  • or people who benefit from the temporary protection on the territory of the Republic of Poland

are allowed to undertake studies:

1)  as scholarship holders awarded by the Polish party, without paying tuition fees

2)  by paying tuition fees

3)  without paying tuition fees or receiving scholarship

4) as scholarship holders awarded by the sending party, without paying tuition fees

5) as scholarship owners awarded by the university

 

Foreigners enlisted above can apply to universities on the basis of regulations that apply to Polish citizens.

Foreigners who do not have the Card of the Pole or aforementioned permits apply to universities on the basis of different regulations.

 

The basis to admit a foreigner to a university might be one of the following documents:

     1) an international agreement,

     2) an agreement between a university and foreign entities,

     3) the decision of the minister responsible for higher education,

     4) the decision of a rector.

* Foreigners undertake studies by paying tuition fees.
** The decision about the admission is made by a rector on the basis of the proposal of a committee. The decision specifies the amount of the tuition fees.

Required documents:

  1. a visa or a residence card, or another document that entitles a foreigner to reside on the territory of the Republic of Poland
  2. the valid Card of the Pole
  3. the copies of certificates or diplomas (with the originals) 
  4. the copies of:
  • a passport
  • a Visa
  • the Card of the Pole
  1. a medical certificate confirming that one is fit to undertake studies in a chosen field;
  2. an insurance policy in case of sickness or accidents for the minimal period of the academic year or the European Health Insurance Card, or the declaration of taking out the voluntary insurance in the National Health Fund (NarodowyFunduszZdrowia) immediately after undertaking studies;
  3. a certified copy of a passport (a page with a photograph and a number);
  4. a certificate confirming knowledge of Polish language;
  5. in case of studies in a foreign language: a document confirming knowledge of a given language, defined in the regulation;
  6. an admission application;
  7. a completed questionnaire;
  8. 4 colour photographs (including one photograph in a digital form, according to the regulations that apply to issuing identity documents);
  9. the proof of payment of the application fee which is specified by a rector, covering the costs of the application process (The payment usually amounts to 200 euro).

* Each document that was issued in a foreign language should be submitted with its translation into Polish, made by a sworn translator.

 The documents should be submitted to the Admissions Committee of a given faculty.

 

Annual fees for foreigners who study at the Kielce University of Technology (Politechnika Śląska) amounts to:

- 2000 euro – for first and second cycle studies

- 3000 euro – for doctoral studies, postgraduate studies, academic internships, habilitation research

- 3000 euro – for training courses and internships

Tuition fees mentioned above are reduced by 30 per cent for students of Polish origin.

Annual fees for foreigners who study at the Jan Kochanowski University amount to:

- 2000 euro – for first and second cycle studies,

-  for doctoral studies:

     a) 4000 euro – for biology, chemistry and physics

     b) 3000 euro – for different fields of study,

- 3000 euro – for postgraduate studies.

Attention! Foreigners from Vinnytsia (Ukraine) who study at the Jan Kochanowski University by paying tuition fees, can obtain a 50 per cent reduction of the tuition fee (an application should be submitted in the Dean’s Office).

 
Admissions to private universities

Tuition fees at private universities amount to 270-390 PLN per month. The fee depends on the field of study.

Some private universities offer a 50 per cent reduction of the tuition fee for students from Ukraine and for the holders of the Card of the Pole.

Required documents:

  1. a visa or a residence card, or another document that entitles a foreigner to reside on the territory of the Republic of Poland
  2. the valid Card of the Pole
  3. the copies of certificates or diplomas (with the originals) and the apostille issued by the Consulate of the Republic of Poland
  4. a B1-B2 certificate in Polish
  5. the copies of:
  • a passport
  • a visa
  • the Card of the Pole
  1. a completed questionnaire or a personal information sheet
  2. 4 colour photographies

* Each document that was issued in a foreign language should be submitted with its translation into Polish, made by a sworn translator.

 

The scholarship for the graduates from the Vinnytsia schools

This is the Scholarship of the City of Kielce for the students of the full-time long cycle studies and of the full-time first, second and third cycle studies at the universities in Kielce. The students have to be graduates from the high schools and universities in Kielce’s partner city, Vinnytsia in Ukraine.

Students can apply for the scholarship if they meet the following criteria:

a) they are students of the full-time long cycle studies or of the first, second, or third cycle studies at a university in Kielce,

b) they graduated from a high school or a university in Vinnytsia in Ukraine,

c) they have completed a year of studies that precedes a year of submitting their application for the scholarship within a period specified in the regulations of their university (it does not apply to first-year students),

d) they are not on the leave specified in the Article 172, Paragraph 1 of the Act – Law on Higher Education, except for the sabbatical leave or scholarships abroad.

Necessary documents:

  1. a completed application
  2. a certificate confirming completion of secondary or higher education at a school in Vinnytsia in Ukraine (it can be also a copy certified by a body issuing a document or by an applicant),
  3. a declaration of the bank account number into which the scholarship will be paid.

Applications for the scholarship should be submitted in person in the secretariat of the Department for Education, Culture and Sport of the Municipality of Kielce, ul. Strycharska 6 (room 603) from 1 to 15 October 2015.

Note!

Applications that are incomplete or are submitted after the deadline will not be processed.

The scholarship can be granted independently from other awards and scholarships.
